PLEDGE |
We, Region Six of the National Society of Black Engineers, hereby
pledge to develop programs that will assure the successful graduation
of our members and to increase Black representation and community
consciousness in and to the fields of technology. our main commitment will be to the development of out people and our communities. We shall not accept being engineers who happen to be Black, but Black people who have chosen to become professionals dediacated to the future development of ourselves, and the next generation, and in turn, motivate others through the experience and dedication that we have acquired. We, thus commit ouselves to the maintenance and continued development of our youth, our institutions and organizations. Since we are students and will play a major rolr in the future of our people, we will strive for academic excellence. The expertise we possess will be used to teach, develop, and lead Black students presently in engineering and engineering technology as well as those to follow. We will honor the opportunity to increase strenght of our members so they can obtain, meet and surpass the objectives of our organization. This pledge is sincere; and out ogranization is committed to bringing about individuals who are comitted professionals what will serve as valuble assets to industry, our communities, and the future for all. We are appreciative of those who came before us, for setting the foundation we now use as support, and shall continue their tradition for those to come after us; thereby contnuing a never ending cycle for the advancement of our people. |
